I purchased my 1969 Corvette from Ferrill Chevrolet in Weatherford, Texas on 22 August 1969 on my way back to a second tour in Vietnam as an Army pilot. The car presently has 259,600 mile on it and is a member of Mike's High Mileage Club. It has spent 6 1/2 years in Germany, 4 years in Kansas, 2 years in Georgia and the rest of the time in Alabama. It was my daily driver for over twenty years. It participated in the first Corvette Caravan for the National Corvette Museum Opening and will also take part in the 25th Corvette Caravan in August 2019. It is a 350 HP 4 speed without any options except positraction. No power steering, no power brakes, no air conditioning. A pure 60's sports car. It is still a numbers matching car with no components having to be replaced. It has been to a Chevrolet dealer one time for maintenance . On the way back from Germany in 1987 a rear wheel bearing went out in Cordele, GA. I retired from the Army in 1997 after 31 years of service and have lived in Alabama since then. I purchased my first parts from Mid America in the early 70's while stationed at Ft. Riley, KS.
