Corvettes are our life!

Since I was 10 back in 1974, I have always loved Corvettes. I spent hours drawing pictures, building models, and dreamed of one day being a Corvette owner. In 1975 I got my first ride in a Mille Miglia Red Coupe. I knew even more I wanted to be a Corvette owner. Then in 1980 I got to drive my first Corvette when I was a senior in High school a 1972 Big Block 4-speed Targa Blue Coupe. The big day finally arrived in 1982 when I was 19, and I bought my first Corvette—a 1968 327/350hp Rally Red 4-speed Convertible. In 1985, I added a Black 1978 Coupe to my collection, which my wife and I used to date in. We married and sold that to get our first home in 1991, and she always promised once she got out of college, we would get another Corvette. She came through and then some.

In 1996, we bought our first Corvette as a married couple: a 1989 Bright Red Coupe. Two years later, we added a 1990 Black 6-speed Coupe to our collection. In 2000, we got a brand-new 2000 Torch Red Convertible, and the following year, we paired it with a 1999 Black Coupe. Currently, we own a 2015 Arctic White Coupe, a 2012 Grand Sport Centennial Edition Coupe, and a highly optioned and documented 1972 Ontario Orange 4-speed Coupe. We also have our half a Corvette, a 2005 Cadillac XLR.

The Corvette product has been inspiring and good to me considering I even made a career out of it selling Corvettes of all years for the last 24 years in the Bay Area California for a Classic Car Dealership. My Wife and I also were Vice President and Membership Chairpersons for the Corvette Club in our area along with avid Corvette Car showing with many trophies and plaques getting first place year end for two cars in the same year in WSCC sanctioned shows. My Wife and I Thank you GM and Chevrolet for making iconic Sportscar that fits into everyone's budget to make their dreams come true. I know it did for us, and we are still living the Corvette dream which I am sure has a C8 around the corner for us and other future generation Corvettes as well. The black and white picture is me with my first Corvette in 1984 and the other one is me with my 72 in 2024. John and Julie Verhoek
