My 4 Passenger Corvette America

You know, it’s been so long that I’ve forgotten what year Mike Yager brought his four passenger Corvette America silver down to Orlando for me to purchase. I first saw it on his MY Garage page and said, "this would fit the bill for me." I didn’t know that GM had made a four-door Corvette. I had recently purchased my first 1980 Silver Corvette, but I was coaching Little League at the time and there was only room for one of my children instead of two. The four-door solved that problem. Think of that, a family Corvette! Mr. Yager had one of the 6 that were made. The one he had was originally owned by Dorothy McGuire of the McGuire singers. I never met Mike during my negotiations, as the transaction was done through one of his employees. We went back and forth for a year, and when I heard he was going to paint it yellow and use it for a taxi for his race team, I had all but given up. Then at the beginning of the year, for the National Corvette Restoration society meeting in Orlando he had a change of heart and brought it down to me. I’ve owned it ever since. It was ahead of its time. It had touch key pads for popping the doors, a hatchback (which wasn’t developed until 1982) and 4 full size seats and t-tops! I love this car!!! As far as I can research I believe my silver and another red one are the only 2 working survivors!
