I was 17 years old when I bought my 1956 Corvette. I was in the Navy at the time and was sent to Key West, Florida. I customized it to have a blue with gold metal-flake blown in, black with gold metal-flake coves and a white convertible top. I drove it back to Key west and was there for about 14 months, put a new clutch in at the Naval Base. I then traded it in for a brand new 1963 split window and drove it home to New Hampshire. I didn't like it during the winter times so I went back to the dealer and got my 1956 back. I have had many other Corvettes since then. I recently sold my 1960 and acquired a C5 Corvette anniversary edition with 20k miles on it. I may keep it for another 15 years or so, but at 74 years old, who knows....
