In 1992 my parents bought their first Corvette. I was in high school at the time and I absolutely loved it. I asked them to drive it several times and they wisely said no. That is when I decided to buy my own Corvette. My parents agreed. My father and I searched for months looking at Corvettes all over the state. Then one day a 1974 in bright yellow popped up for sale just a few miles away. My parents and I went over and looked at the car. Needless to say I ended up with it. That was in May of 1993, I was 18 and just a few weeks away from graduating high school. Needless to say I absolutely loved the car. It was not a very high optioned car, not much really that desirable about it to a collector. I have loved this car since 1993 though. I have taken it to shows all over the Midwest with my parents in the 90’s. My dad and I would spend weekends together working on it and just fixing old parts that had worn out over the years. In later years when I got married my wife and I drove it off after our wedding. I take it on long drives through the country with my wife or my son. To me this old car is worth far more than the money anyone would give me. Every time I look at it I think of the time I spent with my parents and now my wife and son as well as the wonderful people I have met along the way.
