My Corvette Story began September 2013. I've always been a car girl but just never had the desire for a Corvette and didnt think one would be attainable financially. My husband, who grew up in Flint Michigan, had always wanted one. So in September 2013, I walked into Mid America Motorworks and got a job as a temp working during Funfest. I was only supposed to be there 3 weeks. I have been there much longer. During my first week, I learned that there were SO many things that you could do to personalize your Corvette and that there were Corvettes within reach financially. During my second week (Funfest week) my husband started looking and found a white 1984 Corvette in St Louis. We knew it would be a project car and went and picked it up on Thursday evening after I was able to get away from Funfest. White paint, white and purple interior and 20 inch spinners!! So, we were able to connect with customers at Funfest (who became dear friends) and bought some tires that would fit more suitable wheels. We worked long and hard trying to make it to Funfest 2014. New paint, new interior (made by Mid America), weatherstrip, rebuilt Crossfire engine and a few other bits and pieces. We made Funfest 2014 and every Funfest since. We have had several other Corvettes...a Red 76 and a Blue 80, those have since gone. We have a new project, a 74. But I don't think we will ever sell the 84. It's our first Corvette and it holds a special place in our hearts. Our Money Pit.
