It's been 10 years since I told you about my life with Corvette. I recalled how I first rode and drove a C1 Corvette that eventually led to my purchase of a '68 roadster. Now half a century later, my love for Corvette and especially for the folks involved in Corvette hasn't ceased. My wife and I were married in 1972, now blessed with 50 plus years of a wonderful life together. In 1973, we purchased our first new Corvette, an Orange coupe that listed for all of $6,100. Along the way, we have enjoyed a '69 Daytona Yellow 427 with three deuces, a 400 hp variety, a new L82 Silver Anniversary, a NCM delivered 2000 which I wrote about in your " When Did It Start For You." In the late 70's our local Corvette Club first met Chief Cheerleader Mike when he came to our swapmeet in Erie, PA selling parts out of the back of his station wagon. Seems like we grew up together. Not every moment has been without some setback however. Three years ago, I was diagnosed with a serious cancer. Thanks to wonderful doctors and extensive treatment, I made it through. Unfortunately, because of the uncertain outcome, we were forced to sell our 2012 Carlisle Blue convertible. Miss Blue was our favorite Corvette; she even was on display in 2014 as a Chip's Choice at Corvettes at Carlisle. We both miss her, but we were able to rebound with another C6, another convertible; this time in black. Black is certainly a challenge to keep shiny, but we are pleased to have her. So our Corvette story continues. Maybe there's a C8 in our future, but even if there isn't, we are so blessed with the years and friends we've made thanks to Corvette.
