Fifty-one years ago, after about one year after our wedding, my wife and I purchased an automatic 1963 Corvette off the show room floor for $4,875. We put nearly 82,000 miles on it over its first 6 years of daily driving as well as a trip to Montana and the New York Worlds Fair.
Today, it still has its original Riverside Red exterior and the engine has never been out of the car. I have kept record of all parts with the date, cost of the part, and the mileage when replaced.
Our Corvette has received a first place plaque as well as the bronze, silver, and survivor awards at Bloomington Gold.
A museum was specifically established for the Split Window Corvette, housing 50 years of 1963 split window collectibles and memorabilia.
